The downtown restaurant serving Caribbean fare fused with Southern style soul food has won over a following with its mouthwatering brisket, jerk pork and jerk chicken. They’re served from a food truck the restaurant debuted at the 2016 New Rochelle Street Fair and that travels the region from Mamaroneck’s Harbor Island Park to the DUMBO section of Brooklyn. The down-home comfort food also includes Caribbean style rice and peas with seasonings, pimentos, scallions and freshly extracted coconut milk. “It’s the coconut milk that gives it that wonderful flavor,” says restaurant owner Chyrisse Crisp. If you’re a foodie, a meat lover, or just really, really hungry, you’ll find this truck hard to resist.
