ArtsFest, the weekend-long festival celebrating the arts throughout New Rochelle and Pelham with art exhibits, open artists’ studios, live music and dance, spoken word, and a classic car show takes place this weekend. R. Cafe and Tea Boutique; the New Rochelle Public Library; Alvin & Friends; Jolo’s Vegan Restaurant and Art Gallery; and the Empty Hand Zen Center are just a handful of many downtown stops featuring exciting Arts Fest activities.
And of course, there will be plenty of action at the Grand Market in honor of Arts Fest with an Arts Free-for-All right on Library Green, this Saturday. Pick up lettuce and farm-fresh apples and then join members of the New Rochelle Art Association on an amazing rock painting project. There will also be mural painting, creations from found objects and loads of creative fun! Note that the free trolley pick-up location is also right by the Grand Market too. Access the New Rochelle Council on the Arts’ full Arts Fest program here:
Other Market activities this weekend include a live performance by the Sound Shore area’s very own Bach2Rock Music School, a free mid-day cooking demo with Sonia Urban who will be making paleo chicken and zucchini noodles (aka zoodles), and crepes for sale for al fresco dining with La Maison Bretonne.
Please note that our ping pong tables remain out of service, but the rest of our lawn games will be there.
