Vegan Informational Fair Recap!
We hope you had fun at last week’s Vegan Informational Fair at the Grand Market. A very special thanks to the two local vegans who curated this special event: Nicolas Cojocaru-Durand and Alicia Siebenaler. In case you missed it, the event included an ask-a vegan information table, a raffle for a starter set of three vegan cookbooks + a bag of market produce for a lucky market guest, and three vegan cooking demos, plus a visit with special vegan dessert purveyor.
Halloween Activities Ahead:
Attention aspiring ghosts and vampires! A pop-up Halloween store is located at 5 Anderson Street from now until the end of the month. We were particularly taken by the rotting teeth and the peanut butter and jelly costumes for couples, but really, you can find almost anything to suit your Halloween tastes here (hours: 10-8 Monday thru Saturday and 11-6 on Sundays).
Meanwhile, NoMa Social is hosting a “A Gatsby Halloween Event” on October 27th. There will be a live DJ, costume contest, drink specials and cash prizes.
Families with kids have two fun events to attend. The BID’s traditional Merchants Urchins parade, pumpkin painting, and DJ will return at the Grand Market’s own Halloween bash on October 27th.
On October 31st, FunFuzion presents its Monster Mash (10/31, 5:30 – 7:00) with indoor trick or treating, crafts, snacks, a costume party and more. The Monster Mash is free to all in costume, but you must reserve in advance.
A financial planning workshop regarding business capital and contracts for businesses will take place Thursday November 8th, 6-8 p.m. This is the third in a series of business-focused workshops presented by the City of New Rochelle, the Chamber of Commerce and the BID.
